As part of the Summit Athletic Running Club’s mission to encourage all forms of running, a scholarship program has been established. The scholarship program has been set to further assist in the development of local high school runners in their pursuit of life-long fitness.

SARC commits to a minimum of one $1000 scholarship. More than one recipient may be awarded based on available funds. Winners will be announced by the beginning of July each year.

Criteria for Application

• Be enrolled as a senior at a high school in the Greater Summit County area with plans to graduate in spring 2026

• Plan to attend a college or university in Fall 2026

• Have participated in a high school running program (cross country and/or track) for at least two years

• Meet the minimum academic standard of a 2.5 GPA

• Membership in the Summit Athletic Running Club is NOT a requirement for application. However, additional points may be awarded to those applicants who are members

Process

1. Complete the application fully and legibly. Please print or type.

2. Return the completed application AND a transcript of high school grades and credits to:

4. Make arrangements to have TWO (2) letters of recommendation sent (under separate cover) to the Summit Athletic Running Club at the above address.

5. All applicants will be notified of award status by July 1st, 2026
